The attachment (3) is provided with a pin (2) for insertion into a corresponding recess in the ear plug (1). If the attachment is to be made of plastic, a negative pattern is prepared from silicone, from which the device itself can be produced in the desired colour. Alternative materials are silver, gold and modelling metal, in which a casting is obtained from a prepared and fired wax pattern. The casting may be machined and polished.
