The equipment comprises a locking body (1) which is fixed to the article, and is removed by a pot-shaped magnet (2) in a housing (21) having a funnel-shaped mouth (22). The body comprises a top part (11) with a pin (13) passed through the article, and a bottom one (12) with a clamp (14) gripping the pin, this being released only by insertion in the magnet. One or more lengthwise grooves (15) in the side of the body form a first coding portion (15'), while one or more lugs (25) in the housing mouth fit in the grooves. There can be a second recess (16) in the bottom end face of the bottom part, forming a second coding (16'). This recess can be formed in a truncated-cone face. Pins on the bottom of the magnet can fit in these second recesses. There can be a cover, secured by a lock, over the funnel-shaped mouth.
