摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for providing access to low skew clocks on mutually synchronized different nodes. SOLUTION: When a multiprocessor multinode system is constituted so as to access the low skew clocks for synchronizing processing events, this system distributes low skew signals while using scalable coherent interface (SCI) networks 16 and 18 and synchronizes time-of-century clocks on different nodes. These counters are periodically synchronized with a signal from a selected master counter 13 so that all the nodes can maintain the almost equal counter value. The path of single bit in a transmission packet, echo packet or idle packet at an SCI header is designated through SCI rings 16 and 18 to all the nodes. Since this bit is inserted to the existent packet, it is not necessary to prepare any special synchronizing packet. Further, since this bit is carried through an existent line, it is not necessary to add any new signal path or any excess wire.</p>
