<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of natural birefringence and to improve the temp. characteristic of a modulation intensity. SOLUTION: In an optical fiber sensor consisting of an optical fiber 11 of a prescribed shape, a base plate 19 having an optical fiber fixing groove for fixing the optical fiber 11, and at least a polarizer 13, an analyzer 14, an electrooptical device 15 attached to optical device inserting grooves 17 provided on the prescribed places of the optical fiber 11, the electrooptical device 15 consists of a polarization processed optical fiber, and the optical fiber sensor using the electrooptical device polarized so that the absolute value of a phase difference of light corresponding to respective dielectric main axes of the light transmitting through the electrooptical device 15 becomes within (m/2±1/6)π(where, m is odd number) when a voltage is not applied is formed. Thus, the optical fiber sensor with an excellent temp. characteristic or without needing a wavelength plate is realized.</p> |
