<p>A communications network (10) is provided that allows for secure, dynamic communication between business nodes of the network. The business nodes of the network are coupled over the global Internet (35). The users at the business nodes are able to transmit and receive data to and receive data from a central web server (32). The web server (32) accesses data stored in a legacy mainframe database (22) and populates the data fields of web page templates with the stored data. The user of the communications network is able to access customer-specific information over dynamically updated web pages. The web server includes a firewall for preventing unauthorized access to the data maintained in the network (10).</p> |
