<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet communication system for efficiently operating communication in a high security level by an arbitrary protocol by a PPP, and nodes constituting the packet communication system, and edge devices. SOLUTION: Information obtained by making the IP address of each edge device 3a and 3b correspond to the MAC address of each computer terminal 1a-1d housed in each edge device is preliminarily collected and registered in a node 10. When any inquiry for the MAC address of the terminal on the other side is issued by an ARP request packet from the computer terminal 1a, the IP address of the edge device 3b which houses the terminal on the other side is also communicated with the MAC address of the terminal on the other side at the time of returning the ARP response packet, and the MAC address and the IP address are made correspond to each other and registered in the edge device 3a. As for the following received packets, the edge device 3a extracts the IP address of the edge device 3b which houses the terminal on the other side by referring to the registered contents, and transmits the capsuled IP packet to the destination of the IP address to the node. Thus, only the routing of the IP packet is required in the node 10.</p> |
