PURPOSE: Provided is an auto gain control device of a weft detecting device for a water jet loom which is characterized by supplying an electric current uniformly, extending the life span of a floodlight owing to radiating uniform light, also extending the life span of the weft detecting device for the water jet loom, and reducing power consumption. CONSTITUTION: The auto gain control device of the weft detecting device for the water jet loom is comprised of: the floodlight radiating uniform light; a light receiver receiving light radiated from the floodlight, and outputting voltage proportionate to the light; a reference voltage feeder; a monitor of the light receiver monitoring the voltage supplied and outputted to the light receiver; an electric source feeder of the light receiver supplying the electric source to the light receiver in accordance with the voltage supplied from the reference voltage feeder and the monitor of the light receiver; and a comparing part.
