PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationally apply a required thrust-resistant characteristic to a segment when advancing a shield machine or a tunnel boring machine. SOLUTION: This thrust-resistant member A for the segment provided between the main girders 1 of the segment to transmit thrust is formed with attachments 10 allowing the thrust-resistant member A to abut on the main girders 1 and a thrust material 6 arranged between the attachments 10. Face plates 11 having the girder height higher than that of the thrust material 6 are provided at the abutments between the attachments 10 and the thrust material 6. Ribs 15a and 15b abutting on the main girders 1 to transmit thrust are provided behind the face plates 11 removably from the main girders 1.
