PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing in which a detrimental permanent set can hardly be caused in a raceway track of a bearing ring due to an impulsive load and which has an excellent acoustic characteristic. SOLUTION: In a roller bearing comprising an inner ring having an inner ring raceway track, an outer ring having an outer ring raceway track, and a plurality of rolling element arranged freely rollable between the inner ring raceway track and the outer ring raceway track, at least one of the raceway tracks of the inner ring and the outer ring is made of a steel which has 0 vol.% of retained austenite and has 3 or greater of indentation-proof exponent defined by the formula shown as below. [Indentation-proof exponent]=[elastic limit contact pressure (GPa)]/[modulus of elasticity (GPa)]×100.
