PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an extra closing action when an opening command is issued to improve the reliability of an opened state. SOLUTION: This switch operating device is provided with a trip trigger 19 locking a cutoff lever 36 applied with CCW torque by a closing torsion bar 34 via a trip latch 18, a trip electromagnet 20 releasing the lock of the trip latch 18 by the trip trigger 19 and rotating the cutoff lever CCW to open an opening/closing contact point 10, a cam 3 rotated integrally with a large gear 40 connected via a link 41 to an insertion lever 37 applied with CCW torque by a closing torsion bar 35, an insertion trigger 15 locking a second pin 13 provided on the cam 3 via an insertion latch 14 to hold the closing torsion bar 35 in an excited state, a trip electromagnet 16 driving a trigger lever 16d to the right direction to release the lock of the insertion latch 14 by the insertion trigger 15, and an insertion preventing device 130 having an interlock electromagnet rotating the trigger lever 16d CCW to prevent a closing action when the opening command is issued.
