PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame sensor which can avoid malfunctioning due to irregular incidence from a light source or continuous noise. SOLUTION: This sensor has infrared detecting means 1-1 to 1-n, which detect light having infrared-ray wavelength characteristic of flame as infrared- ray detection signals and a flame determing means 2 which extracts feature quantities characteristics of the flame from the detected infrared-ray detection signals and determines flame, according to the feature quantities characteristic of the flame; and the flame determining means 2 determines the synchronism of the infrared-ray detection signals detected by the detecting means 1-1 to 1-n and determines the flame, by using infrared-ray detection signals which are determined as being synchronous.
