PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce light leak and disclination in a liquid crystal display device by suppressing the bending of equipotential lines caused in the vicinity of the end of a pixel electrode. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device which utilizes gate line reversal driving, a portion provided along a scanning line in the tip parts of a pixel electrode is formed by raising it with respect to the main surface of the electrode. Moreover, a portion provided along a signal line in the tip parts of the pixel electrode is formed to have the same height as that of the main surface of the electrode.
