PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an excellent distance feeling of a desired blurring state according to a distance from a virtual view point by reducing a load on a CPU when plotting a blurred image according to the distance from the virtual view point. SOLUTION: A Z value from the virtual view point is written in a Z buffer with every pixel of a present image (Step S1). A blurred image by blurring the present image is generated (Step S2). Anαvalue is taken out with the Z value as an index from CLUT setting theαvalue as a gradation (Step S3). The present image and the blurred image areα-blended by using anαplane composed of theαvalue, that is, theαplane whose semitransparency is increased toward the pixel distant from the virtual view point (Step 4).
