Disclosed is a fruit or vegetable storage container which significantly increases the amount of time that fruits, vegetables or the like can be stored under refrigerated conditions before spoilage occurs. The container includes a bag formed from a thermoplastic material and a moisture controlling device which is formed, at least in part, from a cellulosic material and which is located within the bag.
