A peel pad package (1) is made up of plural pads (5), each consisting of a multiplicity of placemark sheets (12) each of which has a strip of adhesive (13) along an edge area, a ll of the pads being mounted on a backing sheet (15). The backing itself has a strip of adhesive (18) for mounting it on a convenient surface. The sheets of a single pad have the same color, but the sheet color for each pad is preferably different from those of the other pads. The adhesive strip on the placemark sheets is narro w enough to fit between the writing margin on a book page and the edge of that page. At least some pads can be o f note size. The backing can be printed with indicia (23). One or more perforated sections can be provided o n the backing, each with adhesive on one side, for tearing off the backing from an adhesive strip.
