PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice polishing apparatus capable of simultaneously enhancing the rice polishing performance and shortening the rice polishing time. SOLUTION: A rice polishing unit 20 of a rice polishing machine body has a milled rice drop port on an upper end side and a polished rice discharge port on a lower end side, respectively, and comprises a rice bran removing cylinder 50 which is in an inclined attitude during the rice polishing operation, and a rice polishing roll to be rotated therein. The rice polishing unit 20 is tiltable, and during the rice polishing operation, the rice polishing unit 20 is held in an inclined attitude in which the angle of inclination of its axis L<SB>1</SB>with respect to the perpendicular line L<SB>2</SB>is in a range of 35-55°.
