#CMT# #/CMT# The device has a frame (4) fitted with an attachment unit for transporting the device by helicopter. The frame has a storage area for bottles containing an explosive mixture of gases e.g. oxygen or hydrogen. A cylinder holds balloons (9) which comprise inflation sleeves. A conveying unit is constituted of pipes (13), a mixer (14) and the bottles, and conveys the explosive mixture to the sleeves. The cylinder is mounted on the frame to successively bring the inflation sleeves to an injection nozzle (12) and to an explosive mixture ignition unit. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for protecting sites e.g. road, ski trail or urban area, after snowfall. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The device can be placed on different firing zones over a snow cover to provoke the avalanche through the explosion of the balloon, thus directing major part of the explosion towards the snow cover. The utilization of several balloons permits to trigger several avalanches in the different zones without having to recharge the device.
