PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens unit, wherein a structure for fitting lenses into a lens barrel can be simplified and it is easy to cope with a change in lens design. SOLUTION: The lens unit 1 includes the plurality of lenses 2 (in the example shown in Fig.1, three lenses), a lens barrel 3, spacers 4, and a separation-preventing ring 5. Each lens 2 is formed from a lens main body part 2a functioning as the lens 2, and a flange part 2b formed along the external circumference of the lens main body part 2a. The lens main body part 2a of each lens 2 has a diameter corresponding to the effective diameter D of the lens 2, and the diameter changes according to the effective diameter D. However, the dimensions in the respective radial directions of the flange parts 2b are changed so as to compensate for differences between the diameters of the lens main body parts 2a, to be set so that any of the lenses 2 has the same outside diameter.
