摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device which is improved in color reproducibility of one of two display panels and so on by changing lighting methods of the two display panels according to the kind of a light source of a lighting device. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device is used for a both-surface display type mobile phone etc., and has a lighting device having a light guide plate and a light source part, a first liquid crystal display panel having colored layers of four colors disposed on one surface side and a second liquid crystal display panel having colored layers of three colors disposed on the other surface side. The light source part has an RGB LED emitting white light and a white LED which contains a YAG-based phosphor and emits white light. The first liquid crystal display panel corresponds to a main display panel and is lit by using at least the RGB LED, which is not turned ON when the second liquid crystal display panel is lit. Display of high color reproducibility is therefore obtained and while deterioration of the RGB LED with time is delayed, the electric power of the light source part can be saved.
