PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route guidance apparatus for properly implementing a route guidance, in comparison with those of the conventional apparatuses. SOLUTION: A navigation apparatus configures a current point as a departure place, searches a route from the departure place to a destination, configures a guided route as the route to the destination obtained by a search, and guides the guided route using a voice and an image. If the apparatus is positioned within a restricted area in which the departure place is a base point and a restricted area in which the destination is a base point, the route guidance is restricted (S320, S440). The route guidance is restricted, by turning off a voice guide function or limiting a volume of the guide voice. While the route guidance is restricted, a restriction release switch is displayed on a screen (S330, S450).
