PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing a sulfonimide compound which is a substance useful as an organic ion conductor, a Lewis acid catalyst, and the like. SOLUTION: This method for producing a sulfonimide compound is characterized by reacting a sulfonyl halide with an ammonium salt in the presence of a base compound selected from an inorganic base compound consisting of a carbonate, a bicarbonate, a phosphate, a hydroxide and an oxide containing an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal as a component, and an organic base compound consisting of a tertiary amine and a heterocyclic amine.
