PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for an electronic component, and its manufacturing method, capable of accurately positioning and retaining a plurality of kinds of electronic components of different sizes. SOLUTION: When an electronic component 1 is inserted into a socket from a loading aperture 21, the electronic component 1 can be guided on a contact substrate 30 below via a guide slant face 12B1 provided at a guiding wall part 12B; and when the component is inserted further, it is guided toward a slanted part 36b of a guide piece 36 provided on the contact substrate 30, so that the electronic component 1 can be positioned (centered) at a proper position on a loading area 30A. As a result of this, individual contactors 1a, formed on the electronic component 1 and individual spiral contactors 34A provided on the contact substrate 30, can be connected or a one-to-one basis.
