PURPOSE:To provide the square type lithium secondary cell which can prevent combustion and rupture due to internal shortcircuiting, and is still capable of being used even if internal shortcircuiting takes place. CONSTITUTION:A positive lead plate 21 is connected to a positive plate current collector lug section 13 of a positive plate 10 via a fuse 20. and insulating masking is applied to the positive plate current collector lug section 13 and the fuse 20. A plurality of the positive plates 10 and negative plates are interchangeably piled up via each separator, and housed in a cell case. The respective positive plates 10 are electrically collected via the positive lead plates 21 provided with each fuse 20, and connected to a positive terminal. Meanwhile the respective negative plates are electrically collected via negative lead plates, and connected to a negative terminal. When internal shortcircuiting takes place, the fuse is burnt out, and an electrode where shortcircuiting has occurred, is thereby separated from a cell. |
