The present invention is an improved quick to connect and quick to disconnect fluid coupling of the type having a clip (66), a male portion (12) having an annular groove (50) adapted to receive the clip, a female portion (14), and a sealing element (62). It is improved by the female portion having a dual function frustoconical portion (28) adapted to compress the sealing element (62) during joinder of the male portion (12) with the female portion (14) as well as to compress the clip into the annular groove in preparation of separating the male portion (12) from the female portion (14). Further, a sleeve (72) is slideably placed about the male portion (12) and adapted to capture the clip (66) compressed within the annular groove (50). |
