PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep an appropriate clearance range between a cylinder inner surface and a piston ring outer circumferential surface by a simple means without increasing cost, and to exhibit expected performance of a compressor and the like. SOLUTION: In the assembling method of the piston to the cylinder 1 for assembling the piston having a piston ring attached to its outer circumference to inside of the piston, continuously arranged projections 25 pointing to a certain direction having an acute-angled tip end part provided in a fitting surface 24 of an annular groove 19 engraved in an outer circumferential surface of the piston 15, the resin piston ring 20 is inserted into the annular groove 19 and moved along an arranging direction of the protrusions to fit a piston ring with the fitting surface of the annular groove while biting the protrusions with an inside surface 20b of the piston ring 20. A clearance between an outer circumference surface 20a of the piston ring 20 and the cylinder inner surface 1a is kept in an allowable range by attaching the piston 15 to inside of the cylinder while aligning the piston ring 20 for the cylinder 1.
