The control method of a traffic information broadcasting control device in a car audio by using a signal meter voltage change of an FM IF unit comprises the steps of selecting a radio or a tape; if a radio is selected, determining if a traffic information key is input; if not, operating as a last radio mode and if the traffic information key is input, starting an auto tuning and determining if a signal meter is over A level; if not, starting an auto tuning and if the signal meter is over A level, determining if a traffic broadcasting perception signal is over A level; if not, starting an auto tuning and if the traffic broadcasting perception signal is over A level, stopping the auto tuning and receiving a traffic information broadcasting; if a tape is selected, driving the tape and determining if the traffic information key is input; if not, driving the tape and if the traffic information key is input, starting the auto tuning and determining if the signal meter is over A level; if not, driving the tape and if the signal meter is over A level, determining if the traffic broadcasting perception signal is over A level; if not, driving the tape and if the traffic broadcasting perception signal is over A level, stopping the auto tuning and determining if the traffic broadcasting output signal is over A level; if the traffic broadcasting output signal is over A level, turning off the tape and determining if the signal meter is over B level; if not, driving the tape; and if the traffic information standby mode is off during the tape driving, operating the tape mode and if not, determining the level of the signal meter.
