The present invention relates to a universal serial bus (USB) activating method for an authorized user in an embedded terminal and an apparatus for the same. According to the present invention, a method for registering and unregistering a USB device driver comprises the following steps of: transmitting a USB device driver registration password from a USB device driver registration program (USB_EN) to a USB device driver registration interface (KUSB_EN) existing in a kernel; and registering the USB device driver to the kernel by the USB device driver registration interface when the USB device driver registration password is matched with a password stored in the kernel.
