PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device management system for managing a state of using a device.SOLUTION: When a device does not satisfy a predetermined use condition, a device management system restricts the use or some functions of the device, stores in advance a confirmation password generated by a management server, for requesting the management server for a release password for releasing the restricted state, outputs the generated confirmation password in response to an instruction from a user, and releases the restricted state by use of the release password for releasing the state received from the management server.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
