PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle network that is enhanced in security while suppressing load increase of a resource of the network.SOLUTION: A main message generator 31 of ECU as a node of an on-vehicle network generates data to be transmitted by broadcast. An MAC generator timing determining part 34 determines whether a timing of generating MAC (message authentication code) has come for the data generated in the main message generator 31. According to this determination, the MAC generator 35 generates MAC, and outputs the generated MAC to an MAC message generator 36. The MAC message generator 36 generates an MAC message containing the MAC generated by the MAC generator 35. A transmitter transmits the data generated in the main message generator 31 and the MAC message generated in the MAC message generator 36 by broadcast.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
