The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for automatically setting smartphone modes on the basis of a time table and location data. An apparatus for automatically setting smartphone modes according to the present invention comprises: a timetable input unit inputting a timetable of a user; a location control module inputting location information corresponding to each time inputted in the timetable input unit; a time control unit controlling timetable data inputted from the timetable input unit; a time comparison unit comparing the timetable data of the time control unit with a current time; a location information checking unit checking the location information in the location control module when the current time corresponds to the time of the timetable data inputted in the timetable input unit in the time comparison unit; a global positioning system (GPS) module transmitting current location information to the location control module; a current location checking unit checking the current location by the GPS module; a location comparison unit comparing the current location inputted in the GPS module with the location inputted in the location control module; a current notification setting checking unit checking current notification setting in a smartphone of the user when the current location is matched with the inputted location in the location comparison unit; and a notification setting control unit changing the setting into a silent or vibration mode when the notification setting is set as a sound mode in the current notification setting checking unit. According to the present invention, since the mode can be automatically set by the timetable or location-based data of the smartphone user, the user is not required to set the alarm settings one by one, and thus an advantageous effect of reducing annoyance by a mobile terminal in a public place is provided.
