PURPOSE: To enhance the safety of a card by concealing definite data at a usual time and making the same visible if necessary by providing a fixed recording layer on which predetermined data is printed regardless of a heating state and a variable recording layer subjected to printing at predetermined color forming temp. or color erasing temp. CONSTITUTION: An ID data recording part on which the data for specifying the possessor of a card C is recorded is obtained by successively providing a fixed recording layer 4, a variable recording layer 5 and a protective layer 6 on the substrate 3 of the card C. Data is recorded on the fixed recording layer 4 by using a printing material generating no deterioration by the heat applied to the variable recording layer 5. When the card C is inserted in a processor, the printing of the variable recording layer is erased to make the ID data recording part 2 visible and an attendant can confirm whether or not the user of the card C coincides with a possessor. When the card C is returned to the user, printing is applied to the variable recording layer 5 to again conceal the ID data recording part 2. |
