[Also in Division F4] The discharge valve of a compressed cr liquefied gas container 10 (particularly a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher) is mounted in a plug 12 inserted in the container mouth 11 which is integral with the body and which has an internal annular groove near its outer end in which are seated three separate plug-retaining members 32, 33, and (34). When operating lever 29 is depressed to remove the closure member 16 from its seat 19 fluid flows through outlet passage 24 in transverse rod 23 and is discharged from a nozzle attached thereto. Plug 12 may also house a bursting disc 36 of which one side communicates with the container interior and the other with outlet 24 via bore 37. |
