A feed composition comprises at least one tris (phosphonoalkyl) amine of the general formula: in which R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 and R 6 (which may be the same or different) are each hydrogen or C 1 -C 4 alkyl radicals or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in admixture with a solid or liquid carrier, which carrier comprises an animal feedstuff (as defined) but not a tetracycline antibiotic. A method of treating animals, other than humans, which comprises administering, internally, to the animals at least one tris (phosphonoalkyl) amine (as above defined) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, alone or in admixture with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, is also claimed. |
