Horticultural soil or soil-protecting and improving agents. G5-. Contain (a) fermented extraction-residues from the manufacture of powdered coffee, (b) fillers consisting of or contng. natural or active synthetic silicon dioxide and, opt. (c) water-sol. organic polymers, and/or mineral and/or vegetable pure or spent oils and, opt. soot or wood charcoal. - Prepd. by intensively mixing the coffee residue with finely divided silicic acid or a silicic acid-contng. finely divided filler material, subjecting the mixture to a fermentation process (other ingredients may be added before or during the fermentation) and thereafter mixing with the water-sol. organic polymers. - The product has excellent sorption properties and gives optimal stabilisation within the soil and against the atmosphere during the growth and rest periods. It loosens the soil, but also protects it against such atmospheric influences as heavy rain and strong wind, and has good water-holding capacity.
