An electropneumatic spray gun particularly for paint spraying has incorporated in the barrel an electrostatic generator, the rotor of which is driven by compressed air from the atomiser air passage. Air from supply line 4 enters detachable casing 9, in which rotor 8 is mounted, via passage 27 and drives the rotor by impinging on blades 26. This air may either be allowed to escape into the atmosphere via valve 31 or alternatively it may be fed into atomisation nozzle 24. In the former case valve 31 is adjusted to maintain an excess pressure within casing 9. Rotor 8 is in the form of a disc having an annular peripheral groove 13 in which are mounted excitation ionisers 14 connected to a suitable electric power generator and output ionisers 17 the latter being adjacent to nozzle 24. |
