A tape record medium wrapped to form a roll of tape is characterized by a leader formed with means along its edges for engaging the side edges of tape convolutions of the roll to maintain the roll's integrity. A second leader portion no wider than the tape record medium is characterized by a thickness which serves to maintain a predetermined spacing between the take-up hub of a transport employing the roll and a drive capstan surface. |
