1,181,909. V-engine carburetter arrangements. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. May 2, 1968 [May 9, 1967], No.20821/68. Heading F1B. A six cylinder V-engine with cylinders at 60 degrees has three carburetters, which may be structurally united as a triple-barrel carburetter, arranged in the V and the centre carburetter 12 is connected to cylinders 3 and 4, the carburetter 11 is connected to cylinders 1 and 5 and the carburetter 13 is connected to cylinders 2 and 6. By this arrangement all the cylinder intake pipes 17 .... 22 may be approximately equal in length. The firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6 and suction occurs in the carburetters at intervals of 360 degrees of crank rotation. A known arrangement is described in which one barrel at one side of a twin-barrel carburetter is connected to one bank of cylinders and the barrel at the other side to the other bank. |
