Cleaning and disinfecting textiles using - organic solvent baths

2-Bromo-2-nitropropanediol-1,3 pref. in 0.05-1 (0.1-0.5) g/l concentration, is added as disinfectant to dry-cleaning baths containing mainly organic solvents, pref. C2Cl4, heavy petroleum fractions, CCl3F or C2Cl3F3, and a small amount of water. Process is particularly useful for dry-cleaning clothing and blankets from hospitals and hotels.
