Air-speed coaxial transmission line 11 is coupled to coaxial connector 12 by annular insulating disc 16 the outer diameter of which exceeds the inner diameter of the outer conductors of the transmission line and connector, the disc having an annular metal bushing 18 in its opening and an annular metal sleeve 14 round its circumference. The sleeved disc and the transmission line are a sliding fit in a counter-bore in the outer conductor 19 of the connector. Bushing 18 receives projection 20 of inner conductor 22 of connector 12, projection 20 being screwed into inner conductor 24 of the transmission line. The disc may be polystyrene; the bushing and sleeve may be beryllium copper. The outer diameter of the bushing and internal diameter of the sleeve are selected so that the characteristic impedance of the transmission line is maintained. |
