[Also in Division B2] A hexagonal lock-nut comprises a deformed conical portion 11 at one end and a flange 14 at the other, the nut being coated with lubricant. The lock-nut is formed by compressing one end portion of a nut blank 10 across two opposing flats 13 at their top portions 16 to provide an elliptical opening in the conical portion 11. The lubricant coating which may comprise hydrogenated castor oil wax, paraffin, stearic acid, lanolin, sodium nitrile and an emulsifier, is applied to the nut which is precoated with phosphate black, cadmium plate or zinc. |
