摘要 1,083,052. False twisting yarns. HEBERLEIN & CO. A.G. April 7, 1966 [May 6, l965], No. 15718/66. Headings DID and D1F. Yarn which is at least partially thermoplastic s flake-twisted by being passed between moving surfaces, e.g. of rubber discs 1, 2, there being provided magnetic means, to press the surfaces into contact with the yarn. As shown discs 1, 2 are of non-metallic permanently magnetic material (e.g. rubber into which powdered Ba0.6Fe2O3 has been incorporated) and are magnetised so that the overlapping portions of the discs are attracted to each other and engage the yarn. In Fig. 2, not shown, disc (7) is non- magnetic but disc (2) is urged into engagement therewith by a similar magnetised disc (8) mounted above disc (2). In Fig. 3, not shown, disc 1 is replaced by an annular magnet set in support 3 and covered by a thin non- magnetised rubber disc. In Fig. 4, not shown, the lower disc comprises a non-flexible, non- magnetic thick rubber disc and the magnetised upper disc is drawn into engagement therewith by a magnet (11) placed below the overlapping portions of the discs. Instead of discs 2 being of permanently magnetic material it may be made up of rubber and iron filings or of rubber with a sheet of iron therein. In Fig. 5, not shown, the yarn passes between a pair of magnetised discs (12, 13) the plane of each disc making an angle of 30‹ to 45‹ to the yarn. In Figs. 6 and 7, not shown, the yarn passes between moving belts (16, 17) crossing at approximately right angles to each other. Upper belt (17) contains an intermediate layer of iron powder, sheet iron or iron wire and is urged into engagement with the lower belt by a horseshoe or electro-magnet beneath the cross-over point. Examples are given of types of yarns suitable to be false twisted by the above method.
