1,205,548. Anti-skid brake systems. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 25 April, 1969 [27 April, 1968], No. 21142/69. Heading F2F. An anti-skid device 3, for an hydraulic brake system, inserted in a line between master and slave cylinders, comprises a check valve 9 which is normally held open, but which when closed isolates a master pressure chamber 5 connected to a master cylinder via a line 1 from a slave pressure chamber 6 connected to a slave cylinder via line 2, a floating piston 7, of which opposite faces are exposed respectively to the master and slave pressure chambers, for operating the valve 9 and a servo-device 16, comprising a diaphragm piston 17 responsive to wheel lock, to move the piston toward chamber 5 to seat the valve 9 and hence release the brake. Wheel lock is sensed by a sensor which actuates a solenoid valve to connect to atmosphere a chamber 19 which was previously placed under vacuum. In a modification the floating piston is a solid plunger.
|
