Hollow sterilised bodies of thermoplastic material are continuously moulded, filled and closed by (a) enclosing a tubular preform emerging from the die of an extrusion head and still in a plastic state, in the mould, (b) forming into shape by blowing, (c) rinsing the hollow body with a sterilising gas under elevated internal pressure, (d) filling the body up to the upper edge of the mould, and excess liquid flowing back towards the supply tank by the blowing air channel, while a column of liquid remaining in the support air tube is passed by blowing towards the hollow body, immediately after the end of filling, as the hollow body is detached from the extrusion head, and (e) closing and separating the hollow body by the action of the second moulding device, which moves under the first device after the first device has been moved away from the extrusion head.
