PURPOSE: To obtain an organic thin film having stable, high-quality and high photoelectric transfer characteristics, thus useful for solar cells, catalysts, etc., by forming a viologen-link type porphyrin derivative as a constituent substance into a thin film by Langmuir-Blodgett method. CONSTITUTION: This organic thin film, containing, as a constituent substance, at least a viologen-link type porphyrin derivative of formula I [M is a metal atom, metal halide, metal oxide, etc.; R1 -R3 are each H, CH3 or an alkyl; R4 is a viologen of formula II ((m) is the number of methylene chains, an integer of 3-18; (n) is the number of alkyl chains, an integer of 9-18)], is obtained by forming the porphyrin derivative into a thin film by Langmuir-Blodgett method. It is preferable that this organic thin film further contains a viologen of formula III and/or matrix molecules as constituent substance(s). |
