In a pump of the kind in which the pressure rise created thereby is directly dependent on the rotational speed, e.g. for delivering fuel to a gas turbine engine driving the pump, the quantity of liquid discharged by the pump through a valve 19, 20 to an outlet 17 is controlled by a pair of inter-connected bellows 22, 23 in accordance with the difference between an intermediate pump pressure communicated to the bellows 22 through a passage 25, and the pump inlet pressure communicated to the bellows 23 through a passage 33. The effective length of a biasing spring 32 can be adjusted by a device 31. The valve member 20 is slidable in a U-shaped member 21 so as to be -movable by an electrical solenoid 28 to close the valve 19, 20 independently of the bellows. |
