<p>1288277 Paper-making apparatus BELOIT CORP 19 Nov 1969 [3 Feb 1969] 56701/69 Heading D2A Apparatus for forming fibrous webs comprises two wires F1, F2 between which stock is fed from a headbox 11 and which extend round a stationary curved guide 18 and a rotatable guide 19 disposed within the loop of the wire F2. The headbox supplies a slice 11a having an adjustable upper lip 11c, and flexible trailing members 12 which define converging channels 13. The wires may be of bronze, steel, copper, plastics or fabric and may be of more than one material. Expressed water is collected in a saveall 17 and may be directed back to the headbox. The guide 19 is a foraminous roll from which the wires extend over suction box guides 21, 21a. Doctors 15b, 16b and 19b are provided, and the web is couched by suction rolls 23, 25 to a felt PF. The wires are tensioned at T 1 and T 2 and are driven by means M 1 and M 2 . In a second embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the slice is directed upwardly and the doctor 19b is an air-foil.
