Non-polluting stoving lacquers - crosslinked with cpds. contg. two 5-oxazolone gps.

Stoving lacquers consist of (A) polymers contg. OH gps. (B) a cross-linking component and (C) additives e.g. solvents, pigments, flow agents and catalysts, in which (B) is a cpd. with at least 2 oxazolone-(5) gps. Cross-linking is by addn. only no volatile substances e.g. amines, HCHO or alcohols being released to pollute the atoms. The compsns. are suitable for u se in high solids systems or powder coating, and give satisfactory alkali and water resistance. Smooth glossy coatings are obtd. with excellent mechanical properties.
