Cutting method for steel reinforcing bars - has bars laid in racks on transfer trolley carrying material to shear blades

The method of cutting reinforcing rods or bars to the required length is particularly applicable when small numbers of lengths are required of different sizes and grades of material. A transfer trolley (2) run on transverse rails (12) is loaded with rods from the store. The rods are laid in racks (21) mounted on the beams (20). The trolley (2) is moved along the rails (12) until the required rod is aligned with the shear blades. The rod is pushed forwards over the rollers until it abuts against the stop which has been set at the required length. The cut length is then transferred to the table ready for use.
