<p>Colourimetric determination of enzymes (esp. peptidases or transpeptidases) comprises contacting the enzyme-contg. sample with an enzymatic substrate comprising a deriv. of a primary aromatic amine, and determining the reaction prod. with a colour reagent comprising a peroxide treated Fe complex. Test can be used, e.g., for the diagnosis of liver disorders (gamma-gutamyl transpeptidase or leucine aminopeptidase) or placental function during pregnancy (cysteine a aminopeptidase). The colour reaction (blue or blue-green) does not suffer interference from natural pigments (e.g., on serum). The colour reagent has good storage stability.</p> |
