In a continuous process, the edges of a band of metalined thermoplastic are bent round to form a tube and the joint sealed with a second strip of thermoplastic, under HF induction heating. An inductor is used on one side of the strip only, with pressure rollers on the other side. The inductor is pref. of V-profile, with a single limb on one side and a pair of parallel limbs on the other.
